Ryan Anthony McDonald was shot and killed at Central High School on August 21, 2008. 

He was in the cafeteria waiting for classes to begin when an altercation with another student ensued.  He was shot once in the chest penetrating his heart. 

According to most accounts, it is likely that Ryan died within a matter of moments after being fatally struck by the bullet.  

Ryan was 15-years-old.

Ryan always talked of working with children when he became an adult.  He will never have that chance now. 

However, the McDonald family has developed a scholarship to help a child in Ryan's honor.  Whether it be a university or technical school, the scholarship would help deter some of the financial burden.

The hope of the McDonald family is to keep Ryan's memory alive and honor that memory by awarding a scholarship each year to a deserving student at Central High School.
